KTH seal systems destined for PSVM Angola

The latest bespoke API614 Chapter 2 Lube Oil Systems and API682 Plan 53B seal systems from KTH are headed for an FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading vessel) controlling production on the PSVM field in Angola.

The 1800-2000m deep water PSVM field (Plutão, Saturno, Vênus and Marte) opened in 2008 with the first oil expected by 2011. The FPSO controlling the field will have the capacity to produce 157,000 barrels of oil per day and store up to 1.6 million barrels.

Oil production will be assisted by gas and water injection and the KTH systems are to be fitted on the injection pumps.

The company has custom designed and manufactured a total of 9 systems on this project for two different pump OEMs; Clyde Union and Flowserve.
